Pool Construction Process

1. SIGNING CONTRACT

Your design contract will walk through the contract with you to ensure that everything you have discussed in the scope of works is included and agreed on. Malibu Pools use SPASA Contracts as we are an active SPASA member.

2. POOL ENGINEERING & APPROVALS

Once the contracts are signed the designs of your pool project are sent to qualified engineers to complete formal engineering plans. These engineering plans are the forwarded to our certifier for approvals and lodgement with council.

3. ON SITE MEETING

The on site meeting is also referred to as ‘the mark out meeting’, where the project is taken over by your dedicated construction supervisor. This meeting is attended by our client, the design consultant and construction supervisor. The swimming pool will be positioned, and measurements, distances, and heights will be confirmed before the excavation takes place.

4. EXCAVATION OF POOL

Malibu Pools will organise and arrange all excavation machinery to dig your swimming pool in line with our agreed plans, drawings, and scope of works.

5. COMMENCEMENT OF LANDSCAPING

When our team commences construction of the pool we will also commence landscaping so it all ties in with the progression of the pool construction.

6. POOL CONCRETING

The Malibu Pools team will spray the concrete shell for your pool as per the design and contract. Depending on your scope of works we may also include concrete spraying of any surrounds.

7. POOL TILING

Our team has only the best in when it comes to tiling! Our team of tilers will tile your new pool once the concrete shell has cured. Tiling includes the pools coping, waterline, step edge, water feature, and any tiled surrounds included.

8. POOL INTERIOR

Once your pool fence has been approved and certified by our certifier the interior can be completed. Whether you are having a pebblecrete (pebble) or tiled pool, Malibu Pools will complete this stage just before water goes into the pool. Once completed the pool can be filled with water.

9. HANDOVER

Handover is the most exciting stage of the pool construction. Malibu Pools will check everything off to ensure all works are completed against the scope of works as per your expectations. We will also show you how to utilise your filtration equipment and maintain your new pool.
